At Early Leaps Therapy, our Saturday groups provide a safe and supportive space for children to participate in everyday activities alongside peers. The Explorers group is for younger primary school children and focuses on building confidence in daily routines through play, self-care practice, regulation supports, and shared games. Our older group is designed for upper primary children and extends these foundations by offering opportunities to strengthen independence, collaborate on projects, and practise real-life skills in meaningful ways. Both groups are led by an Occupational Therapist with Allied Health Assistant support, and use neurodiversity-affirming approaches and resources (such as Autism Level Up, Interoception, and Neuro-Wild) to honour each child’s individuality and promote natural, authentic peer interactions.

Early Leaps Therapy will be introducing an additional Saturday group in 2026. This group will expand our weekend program and give more children the chance to join in fun, supportive, and neurodiversity-affirming activities with their peers.

Program fees are invoiced as a one-off upfront payment for the full term. Self-managed families can claim directly through the NDIS portal. Plan-managed families will need to pay upfront and seek reimbursement from their plan manager after the program finishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I drop my child off?

Yes! Children can be dropped off and picked up by an authorised adult listed on your intake form. Parents don’t need to stay for the session — our team supervises children the whole time.

How long are the groups?

Each group runs for 90 minutes each week. The program fee also covers the extra non-face-to-face time our therapists and therapy assistants spend on set-up, pack-up, notes, and mid-week planning to make sure every session is tailored to your child.

Who runs the groups?

Groups are led by an Occupational Therapist, with support from trained Therapy Assistants. We maintain a minimum ratio of 1 staff member (OT or Therapy Assistant) for every 3 children, ensuring close support and a safe environment.

How much does it cost?

Term 4, 2025 → 7-week program: $770 total

Can I use NDIS funding?

Yes, programs are billed under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living (Occupational Therapy).

What about snacks?

We provide simple snacks such as fruit, crackers, and water. As part of enrolment, families complete an About Me form, which includes space to note allergies, safe foods, and dietary needs. If needed, you can send along alternatives for your child.

Do I need to fill out forms?

Yes. Before starting, you’ll be asked to complete a Medical & Safety Intake Form as well as an About Me form. These help us get to know your child’s needs, strengths, and preferences so we can support them in the best way possible.

What if my child is sick?

Please keep children home if they are unwell (fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, or contagious illness). If your child can’t attend, just let us know — however, missed sessions can’t be refunded or made up.
